So 4 things to watch out for in digital marketing in 2022,
I’m Richard Dawson -Digital Marketing Coach this is my weekly digital marketing update.
So here we are. in 22 ‘Happy New Year’, by the way.
It's that time when we reflect on what might be ahead in the year to come. I thought I'd start off by looking at four things to watch this year in digital marketing.
The first thing is email marketing continues to go up the agenda, the league table, if you like important things in digital marketing,I think it's arguably going to be the most important thing in digital marketing this year.So building your email list is really crucial. A couple of reasons for that. One is the increasing concern overdata privacy digital and email marketing is something that's highly regulated in that respect.
The second is from a marketing perspective,that it's very measurable and also it's something you can personalize and customize easily as well.So it's very effective for that reason. The second thing I think is going to be the increase, the continued, increase in the role of influencers. Not just B2C that you see on Instagram, for example, but also B2B as well.
The third thing is going to be the growth of LinkedIn or the continued growth of LinkedIn! In many ways, the pandemic did them a lot of favours. They grew enormously because of that.And it's become such a mainstream way of doing business, especially in B2B, so it continues to be important and I don't see any signs of that tailing off in the next year, or so.
The fourth thing conversely is possibly a bit of a stagnation in the growth of Facebook and its associated platforms. What's App and Instagram. The brand is a little bit stagnant at the moment.I think even with the name ‘Meta’.So possibly we will see. Facebook, not do as well as it might expect this year.
