Make 2025 Count

I don’t believe governments or large corporations have the answers.

I’ve long believed that small businesses are the key to making the world better.

I know that might sound strange, but it’s true for me. I got my break in life through working for and starting a small business 25 years ago after a successful career in a large PLC.

It changed my life and shifted my mindset, and now I help raise other people’s horizons, too.

Most business owners I meet are purpose-driven and have a mission. They are not greedy, exploitative, or toxic. They want to do good for themselves, their families, and their communities. When a (good) small business does well, that money spills out into the community, creating opportunities for others.

Being a business owner is hard the biggest mistake Business Owners make is not sticking with the same strategy long enough to see results. I call it 'zig-zagging.' I did that a lot in the first five years myself. Don't get me wrong; you do need to be prepared to change strategy if things change in your market sector or your plan isn't working. You need to measure what works and what doesn't, but you do need to stick at it, too.

If you want different results in 2025, you have to do things differently than before. If not, you may just need to tweak things a little. Many of us repeatedly do the same things, expecting different results

You don't necessarily need to spend a fortune on marketing for B2B. Sometimes, you need to know how to use LinkedIn, have an email account, and some simple, consistent messaging. For B2C, it's not a lot more complicated, trust me.
