Why you need to take another look at TikTok

So last time I said, we would talk about TikTok and having another look or in some cases for some of you that might be your first look! Hopefully, you've heard of it, you should have because it's maturing and it's growing really quickly.

Though, it's been seen as a B2C platform. We're seeing some B2B brands on it now too. So that's a sure sign that it's an important part of digital marketing. But are you ignoring it? Are you thinking, it's frivolous and silly and it's not for us?

Perhaps you shouldn't be perhaps you should be starting to put it on your radar. Did you know, for example, that TikTok was the most visited domain on the internet in 2021 more than Google? So that's how fast it's growing. It’s important, it’s becoming a real and existential threat to Instagram and Facebook as well.

So it's really big and important. B2C wise, lots of Brands are using it. Probably the best at the moment. I would say are Red Bull, GymShark and Starbucks. Those are probably the best three currently.

But as I said before, B2B brands are there too. They are using TikTok as well. Two good examples. One would be Sage Accounting Software You don't get much more B2B than Sage! You can't imagine them using TikTok for marketing, but they do and it's working incredibly well for them. Another example would be Square who are online payments software, provider.

Again, it's working incredibly well for them. The other thing I've noticed with TikTok and this is a sign of its maturity is that there's a lot more serious content on there as well. Educational content, News, for example, Sky News have a TikTok Channel. A lot of the content posted at the moment is, given the news at the moment is not at all frivolous and silly.

So it really is an important Channel. You need to take it seriously it needs to be on your radar for the future. You probably need to get good at short-form video first though.
